Our Dallas team kicked off 2022 by giving back to their local Feed My Starving Children. The organization offers volunteers a one-of-a-kind experience hand-packing meals for children in need. Our team packed enough rice, soy, dried vegetables and vitamins for 14,472 meals. That’s enough to feed 39 kids for an entire year!
Optomi’s Opt2give program allows us to take a break from our work days and contribute to something bigger than ourselves. Volunteering our time together brings us closer and bonds us as a team while encompassing one of our most cherished values of giving back.
We’re looking forward to making 2022 a meaningful year.

On Friday, November 5th, Optomi celebrated its 9th annual Op2tgive Day, the Founder’s Day of Optomi. A day dedicated to impacting local communities. After packing 300 entertainment bags for hospitalized children at Children’s Health Dallas, the team headed over to Vogel Alcove, an organization with a mission to help young children and their families overcome the lasting and traumatic effects of homelessness. The team has volunteered here in the past, playing with the kids during their “splash time” outside. This time, they spent the afternoon cleaning up the children’s gardens so they can plant the winter harvest. They cleared debris and brought wheelbarrows of soil and mulch to lay down in preparation. At a place where many children may see Vogel Alcove as their home, it is important to make it feel welcoming, clean, and fun – and what kid doesn’t like watching their own plants grow in the backyard!
This entire day was devoted to giving back, an ideal our late founder, Todd Black, instilled in the culture of Optomi. He is the inspiration behind the TGB Foundation, an impact-driven nonprofit providing opportunity for kids to live their best lives. Todd always preached that small things make the biggest impact, and there’s no doubt our Opt2give day efforts have made a difference in the lives of many.
