Optomi Charlotte Participates in the First Annual TGB Day

Our Charlotte team had a blast participating in the first annual TGB Day Rise ‘n’ Shine Walk! Optomi team members, along with several other participants, walked along the Light Rail in honor of Todd Black, co-founder of Optomi and whom The Together Giving Back Foundation was created in memoriam.

Charlotte was just one of the 5 locations that walked in this event. Over 150 participants contributed to this TGB campaign, helping raise about $6,000 that will support The TGB Foundation’s youth STEM program and robotics camps for kids in rural under-served towns. Insufficient Internet connectivity and lack of access to technology devices have left many rurally-located households even further behind in the socioeconomic divide. This divide is especially felt by our youth in these communities. Through these STEM coding camps, the foundation is giving kids a glimpse into how I.T. can be a pathway to self-sufficiency. With an unemployment rate of less than 1% in I.T, a career in technology is a secure choice for children hoping for economic stability and career opportunity.

Optomi is thrilled to partner with a foundation that values kids and technology, two things Todd was passionate about. We can’t wait to participate in the next TGB event!
