Optomi Charlotte Partners with Second Harvest Food Bank to Provide Food Those in Need

The Optomi team in Charlotte spent their Q3 giving back day at Second Harvest Food Bank packing food for those in need in Charlotte and the surrounding area. Our group performed an assembly line filling empty boxes with various food items, taping the boxes and then stacking them on a pallet to be distributed to different groups in need of food assistance.

Founded on a mission of giving back, Optomi is committed to feeding kids with every consultant placed through our Opt2give program. We’ve fed nearly 50,000 kids in need to date. Hundreds of thousands of children are included in Second Harvest Food Bank’s efforts, making our partnership even more meaningful. Together, we are ensuring our neighbors have food in their bellies and love in their hearts.

Second Harvest Food Bank partners with more than 950 partner agencies to provide meals including soup kitchens like Urban Ministries, emergency pantries like Loaves and Fishes, homeless shelters like Uptown Men’s Shelter and Center of Hope, senior programs, and low-income daycares. According to their website, “12.6% of our service area population, over 489,000 people, live in poverty including over 159,000 children and 52,000 seniors.”
