Optomi Chicago Gives Back with Feed My Starving Children

The Chicago team volunteered with Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) for their Q1 giving back day…an organization we have partnered with since the very beginning of Optomi.

Back in 2012, our founders instilled the value of giving back. Each quarter we donate time to give back to our communities. We have been doing this for a decade. Through our charity program Opt2give, we are committed to feeding kids. With each Optomi consultant hired, we provide a food-insecure child a weekend bag of meals. Many children right here in the U.S. don’t know if there will be food in the fridge when they get home from school, so we created the Opt2give program to address this hunger epidemic. In doing so, we could not be more aligned with Feed My Starving Children’s mission.

According to FMSC, millions of kids are lost to preventable illnesses each year. However, hunger still causes about half of the deaths in children younger than 5 years old. FMSC is dedicated to seeing every child whole in body and spirit, working with food distribution partners that partner with communities long-term. The meals packed for hungry little bellies were specifically chosen to combat malnutrition and provide substantial nourishment.

The team packed 112 boxes of nutritional meals for children around the world. In just under 2 hours, we provided 24,192 meals for kids in need. This will feed 66 kids for a whole year!

At Feed My Starving Children, all their work is fueled by core values, some including: compassion, authenticity, and collaboration. Optomi is proud to uphold our own set of core values that heavily align with FMSC’s mission. Through volunteering at FMSC, we impacted hundreds of kids in just two hours. Imagine the impact several hours or days would have.

We look forward to giving back even more throughout the entire year.
