NETWORK SECURITY ARCHITECT

Optomi, in partnership with an industry leader in renewable energy, is seeking a Network Security Architect for their Charlotte, NC office. As part of the Cyber Security Architecture team, you will provide Network security solutions for a global presence. Partnering with multiple IT teams and Business teams you will design, develop and administers security systems and processes to protect the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of resources. You will provide input into security planning and selection of methods used to ensure the protection of the Company’s systems and data.

  • Network Security Architecture experience, including CISCO routers, switches, firewalls, and the associated network protocols and concepts.
  • In- depth knowledge of and experience developing and documenting security architecture and plans, including strategic, tactical and project plans.
  • Experience with common information security management frameworks, such as International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 2700x, ITIL, COBIT and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) frameworks.
  • CISSP certification preferred
  • CCIE Security preferred

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Design Network Security architecture concepts, designs, rules and policies and supports the development and management of next-generation firewalls
  • Research, evaluate and recommends information-security-related hardware and software, including developing business cases for security investments.
  • Provides VPN, proxy and other critical access management support work with the IT department and members of the information security team to identify, select and implement technical controls.
  • Develop security processes and procedures, and supports service-level agreements (SLAs) to ensure that security controls are managed and maintained.
  • Proactively monitors and administers security systems for anomalies and threats to the Company’s computing environment including firewalls, intrusion prevention & detection (IDS/IPS), vulnerability scanning systems, Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Log Management and Information (LMI), Internet access management systems, endpoint security systems, and Data Loss Prevention (DLP)
  • Advise security administrators on normal and exception-based processing of security authorization requests
