IT Project Manager

Optomi is in partnership with one of the nation's leader in Consumers Services, who are seeking an experience, motivated Project Manager to join their IT organization. This PM will work collaboratively with our business units and application development team.

  • 7+ years of experience as an IT project management experience with a good understanding of Agile values and principles.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification and/or SCRUM Certification equivalent strongly preferred. 
  • Knowledge of Project Management Methodologies and tools and software development life cycles (SDLC). Act as key player in a team environment through all phases of the system delivery lifecycle.  
  • Experience in managing escalation, communications, and resolving issues during custom software development. Provides updates, lessons learned, and corrective measure suggestions to ensure high quality results while preventing repeat issues from occurring.  
  • Ability to take initiative and proactively offer suggestions and resolutions. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Detail-oriented, analytical, and thorough in assignments. Self-starter, able to multi-task and work with minimal supervision 
  • BS degree in computer science or related field preferred. 
     

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Work with business units and stakeholders to determine project scope, project goals, product functionality, and desired features. 
  • Responsible for project deliverables, schedule, quality, and communications. Allocates and directs resources to accomplish project tasks and maintains control of project schedule(s) and deliverables. 
  • Work as key resource available for the organization in a strategic manner regarding scope, sizing, and level of efforts required (in business terms) for current or future business needs. Includes analyzing business processes, assist in evaluating alternatives, and determine appropriate solutions with IT staff.  
  • Achieve project goals utilizing Agile delivery and Scrum methodology. Organize and conduct project planning and Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, backlogs, reviews, and sprints. Apply knowledge and experience with implementation and adherence to Scrum best practices. 
  • Organize and track IT project tasks to ensure successful and timely delivery. Control risk management, help determine level of effort and time & delivery estimates required for solution delivery.  
  • Identify and assist in resolving issues, questions, and scope/requirements gaps quickly and effectively to enable delivery and support of applications.
