Optomi Atlanta Gives Back at Sandy Springs Recycling Center

The Optomi Atlanta team spent the day giving back to their community at the Sandy Springs Recycling Center!

Each year, our teams dedicated an entire workday each quarter to giving back in our local communities. Giving back has always been at the forefront of our culture and core values. So much so that each quarter, we recognize both an outstanding employee and consultant for their efforts and achievements with a contribution to the charity of their choosing…. making their passion OUR passion. We support and encourage our entire team as they contribute time and resources to local organizations they feel connected to.

The team sorted through multiple different types of plastics into different bins. They learned there are 3 different types of plastics that must be recycled in separate ways. The group cleaned up areas for the Recycling Center workers to easily access the good plastics!

The Sandy Springs Recycling Center is part of the Keep North Fulton Beautiful initiative: an environmental non-profit providing education and conservation programs to the communities of Johns Creek and Sandy Springs. Keep North Fulton Beautiful focuses on litter prevention, beautification, waste reduction, water conservation, and environmental education. Sandy Springs programs include: Bring One for the Chipper, Bulky Trash and Recycling Day, Cigarette Litter Prevention Program, Document Shredding, Electronics Collection, Environmental Education, Household Hazardous Waste Events, Recycling for Events, River Cleanup, Storm Drain Marking

Their annual impact includes 162k lbs of littler and debris collected and 2.5 million lbs of recycled and reused items processed.

We’re looking forward to our next giving back opportunity!
