Overview
Join a forward-thinking product team supporting over 230 hospitality and engineering technology products across the U.S. and Canada. As a Product Owner, you’ll play a critical role in shaping and scaling both SaaS and IoT solutions in the hospitality industry, including hotel operations and engineering systems. This is a dynamic role focused on internal product team collaboration and external hotel/stakeholder engagement.
What You’ll Do
- Manage the product lifecycle across a diverse portfolio of hospitality and engineering-focused technologies (e.g., locks, HVAC, elevators, conference room systems, towel trackers, fitness integrations, etc.).
- Spend ~60% of your time working closely with the internal product team (including two directors) to define, prioritize, and refine the product roadmap.
- Spend ~40% interfacing with stakeholders from hotel operations across U.S. and Canadian regions to gather feedback, identify gaps, and support implementations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and maintain SOPs, manage backlog grooming, sprint planning, and feature delivery.
- Drive continuous improvement by contributing ideas for process enhancements and identifying areas for operational efficiency.
- Navigate complex organizational structures with resilience, particularly during the onboarding and ramp-up phase.
Must-Have Skills & Experience
- Strong working knowledge of Jira and Confluence (Atlassian suite) — core tools used in day-to-day operations (~80% of tool usage).
- Proficient with Excel (~15%) and Word (~5%) for reporting and documentation.
- Solid understanding of SaaS and IoT product lifecycles within an agile environment.
- Experience working with or for software product companies; able to demonstrate how software-based products are built and delivered.
- Comfortable operating independently, asking questions, and communicating clearly in a cross-functional and culturally complex environment.
- Familiarity with or understanding of hospitality industry operations and guest-facing technology is highly valued.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Exposure to or experience with mobile applications (iOS/Android).
- Prior experience working with fitness tech integrations, conference room systems, or hotel operational software.
- Familiarity with agile ceremonies and backlog management best practices.
- Experience defining and refining standard operating procedures (SOPs) in a scaling team environment.
