Senior Project Manager

Optomi, in partnership with a leader in the healthcare industry is seeking a Senior Project Manager for a 100% remote opportunity! The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading complex, cross-functional projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. This role involves managing project teams, aligning stakeholders, mitigating risks, and driving strategic outcomes for the business. This individual serves as a critical liaison between leadership, technical teams, and external partners. This candidate will come in to support the clients SharePoint Migration from SharePoint 2013 and 2019 to SharePoint online!

Responsibilities of the right candidate: Project Planning:
  • Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, including timelines, milestones, resource allocation, and budget forecasts.
  • Work with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and success criteria.
  • Develop mitigation strategies with any demonstrated risk.
Team Leadership:
  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams, including developers, IT staff, business analysts, and external vendors.
  • Assign tasks, set priorities, and monitor progress to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Provide clear direction and support to team members, fostering a collaborative and productive working environment.
Stakeholder Management:
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all project-related communications.
  • Engage with stakeholders at all levels, including executive sponsors, to ensure alignment and support for the project.
  • Facilitate regular status meetings, updates, and reporting to stakeholders.
Quality Assurance and Testing:
  • Oversee the development and execution of testing plans to ensure the software meets quality standards.
  • Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) and address any issues or defects identified.
Deployment and Implementation:
  • Develop and execute a detailed deployment plan, including timelines, resource allocation, and contingency planning.
  • Ensure that all technical and operational aspects of the software deployment are managed effectively.
  • Oversee data migration, system integration, and any necessary customization.
Post-Deployment Support:
  • Ensure that adequate support and training are provided to end-users post-deployment.
  • Monitor the software's performance and address any post-deployment issues.
  • Conduct a post-implementation review to capture lessons learned and document best practices.

 

Responsibilities of the right candidate:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) as a Project Manager, specifically in software deployment or IT project management.
  • Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams and managing large-scale projects.
  • Experience with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and tools (e.g., Jira, Microsoft Project).
  • Solid understanding of software development lifecycles (SDLC) and deployment processes.
  • Familiarity with IT infrastructure, system integration, and data migration best practices.
  • Knowledge of software testing, quality assurance, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to manage budgets, control costs, and ensure resource efficiency.
  • Proficiency in risk management and mitigation strategies.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Leadership skills with a track record of motivating and guiding teams to success.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) preferred.
  • ITIL, PRINCE2, or other relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Flexibility to work outside regular business hours as required during critical project phases.
