Experience of the right candidate:
- 3+ years experience managing UX production teams.
- Experience working with Jira, Figma, and a solid understanding of Git-based repositories (e.g., GitLab, GitHub).
- Direct experience with a design systems team, automotive industry experience, and Japanese language skills (considered a “super stretch goal”).
- Proven experience working with a software development team to deliver a production application.
- The ideal candidate has hands-on experience managing production application projects with UX, engineering, and product teams.
- Experience in a “linchpin” role, coordinating across multiple teams, is highly valued, as is demonstrated flexibility and the ability to thrive in chaos.
Responsibilities of the right candidate:
- The team manages the core elements of visual design and the software that connects design to code. They are very UX-minded, engaging in "collegiate discourse" to understand how changes to a single component can cascade throughout the system, impacting many screens and applications. This requires purposeful decision-making due to the powerful nature of their work.
