Key Responsibilities:
· Steers execution on defined, program-level goals for medium-to-high complexity programs
· Works within and across team(s) to anticipate, track, and resolve risks and impediments to delivery
· Steers technical program conversations (e.g., relating to architectural approach and system design) and articulates solutions; co-develops and documents solution
· Participates with product and engineering leaders to build implementation roadmaps
· Provides and consolidates inputs for leadership updates; facilitates meetings with leadership on delivery status and key decisions needed to support project delivery
· Identifies and executes on opportunities for improvements to the delivery process: works with relevant teams to redesign process flows
· Mentors, guides, and supports Technical Project Managers and other team members as appropriate
· Tracks and interprets relevant OKR/KPIs; identifies key insights & next steps
· Participates in PI planning meetings and other Agile ceremonies for team/teams. Contributes to prioritization discussions and pressure tests plans for feasibility, capacity, and risk. Is able to tie Features, Epics to user stories. Able to estimate work effort
· Drives coordination, collaboration, and alignment between Product Owners, Architects, and Engineers to meet regulatory and technical requirements · Monitors and ensures compliance with SDLC standards
· Facilitates and plans change management and release management activities · Identifies and addresses complex inter-team technical dependencies, bridges gaps in technical management
· Follows and instills documentation best practices to ensure designs meet Requirements
· Drives technical and regulatory consistency across workstreams; develops documentation to ensure ongoing maintenance and development of technical and regulatory solutions
· Monitors and assesses Agile maturity levels across teams to prioritize support for teams, identify opportunities to improve Agile performance, develop coaching plans to drive Increases in maturity and provide visibility on teams' performance to leadership.
· Consult with teams and engage in hands-on coaching to address behavior drivers behind major blockers and issues to increase team maturity & self-sufficiency. Work with India team and manage both India and US time zones to understand the impediments and blockers and work with US colleagues to remove them
· Designs and executes Interventions to drive behavioral and mindset changes to increase maturity, in the form of targeted teaching, coaching, training, and feedback to teams.
· Drives adherence to and adoption of Agile standards, practices, and processes across Technology
· Contributes to and cultivates Agile community of practice to further develop and mature the organization in Agile methodology.
Facilitates events, shares best practices, and engages with the Agile community within and external to American Express
· Coach, mentor, and support Agile teams, including ACs, TPMs, RTEs, and all stakeholders
- Create presentations for communication to Executives and Leadership teams
· Experience in clarifying objectives, dealing with ambiguity/under-defined problems, advocating for simplification, and influencing teams.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated experience engaging and influencing cross-functional stakeholders and senior leaders.
Required Skills and Qualifications (Must have):
· 6-9 years of experience working as a Project Manager/Delivery Manager preferably working on complex, enterprise level platforms
· RTE and other Agile certifications
· Technical knowledge sufficient to understand and discuss technical challenges and systems design.
· Ability and aptitude to learn new technical skills quickly.
· Working understanding of major coding languages to track delivery challenges and support solutioning.
· Experience writing technical documentation. · Strong understanding of organizational, product, and industry standard metrics.
· Ability to leverage metrics to diagnose problems and improve delivery.
· Ability to manage the post-production processes, drive quality, and implement testing best practices.
· Ability to manage multiple projects across multiple teams.
· Technical problem solving and issue-resolution abilities.
· Demonstrated knowledge of project management process, project management software tools, templates, and management techniques.
· In-depth knowledge and experience with Rally, Jira and Confluence · Knowledge/experience of Databases, Data Modeling, Data Management.
· Knowledge/experience with teams working on huge volumes of data using Bigdata technologies like Hive. Spark, Python.
· Knowledge of public cloud, preferably Google Cloud Platform services.
· Experience managing project budgets and reporting while ensuring compliance with Rally, JIRA, and Agile delivery platform.
