Optomi, in partnership with a premier financial client, is seeking a Cloud Platform Engineer with deep Azure and Kubernetes expertise to support the design, development, and optimization of cloud-native applications within a highly regulated financial environment. Requirements and Skills of the right candidate:
- 7–10 years working in enterprise IT engineering environments.
- 5–7 years of cloud development or operational support across major cloud platforms (Azure required; AWS/GCP a plus).
- Expert-level Kubernetes experience, including hands-on AKS management.
- Strong experience with Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure DevOps, and Azure-native tooling.
- Solid understanding of microservices design principles and containerized application development.
- Firm grasp of networking fundamentals (protocols, load balancers, ingress, firewalls, DNS, VNETs).
- 2–3 years of experience in the consumer banking or financial services industry preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain Azure cloud solutions, utilizing AKS, App Service, and Function App Service within a microservices ecosystem.
- Implement, manage, and optimize Kubernetes clusters, ensuring scalability, security, observability, and high availability.
- Collaborate across development, DevOps, infrastructure, and architecture teams to deliver cloud-native applications and integrate them seamlessly with existing enterprise systems.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, enabling automated deployments, quality gates, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Apply strong networking fundamentals to configure, monitor, and troubleshoot cloud networking components (VNETs, ingress, DNS, load balancing, service mesh, etc.).
- Develop and enhance microservices, focusing on performance tuning, reliability improvements, and maintainability.
- Participate in production support, debugging complex systems using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and distributed tracing.
- Contribute to automation, best practices, and cloud governance standards across engineering teams.
