Job Description: Sales Engineer - Palo Alto

Optomi, in partnership with a leading Consulting client, is seeking a highly skilled Palo Alto–focused Cyber / Network Sales Engineer to support enterprise customers with secure, scalable network and security solutions. This role blends pre-sales technical leadership with hands-on engineering , partnering closely with sales and customers to design, deploy, and optimize modern cybersecurity architectures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert in  Palo Alto Networks security solutions , including next-generation firewalls, Panorama, and SD-WAN.
  • Partner with sales teams in a   pre-sales capacity , engaging customers to understand business and security requirements and translating them into technical solutions.
  • Design, architect, and deliver secure  network and cybersecurity solutions across firewall, SD-WAN, and network security platforms.
  • Perform hands-on configuration, implementation, and troubleshooting of firewalls, SD-WAN devices, and related security infrastructure.
  • Support and integrate additional OEM platforms as needed (e.g.,  Fortinet, Cisco, Cato Networks ).
  • Act as a trusted technical advisor for customers, providing guidance on best practices, architecture decisions, and long-term security strategy.
  • Collaborate with internal delivery teams to ensure smooth implementation and successful customer outcomes.
Qualifications:
  • Strong experience with  Palo Alto Networks security technologies (certifications strongly preferred).
  • 7+ years of experience in  network security and cybersecurity engineering , with exposure to enterprise environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate in both  pre-sales and delivery roles, including customer presentations and solution design.
  • Hands-on experience configuring firewalls, SD-WAN, and network security devices.
  • Ability to learn and support multiple security and networking platforms beyond Palo Alto.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Atlanta-based (Preferred), due to customer-facing and sales collaboration needs. OR Fort Lauderdale; open to Florida-based candidate
