Optomi, in partnership with a leading telecommunications company, is looking for a Network Element Security Technician / Analyst.
Position Summary:
The Network Element Security Technician/Analyst will support the Client's Network Security organization by managing local credentials, access roles, and emergency access on network devices. This role ensures secure configuration of network elements at turn-up and ongoing access governance throughout their operational lifecycle. The position requires strong coordination with Engineering, NOC, Network Operations, and Security teams.

Experience with network devices (routers, switches, transport/optical systems, etc.)

Understanding of local vs. AAA authentication (TACACS+, RADIUS) and fallback access workflows

Practical experience creating, modifying, and auditing user accounts and roles in technical environments

Configure and maintain local credentials on network elements during device installation and activation

Perform periodic credential maintenance, including password rotations, account updates, and role changes

Manage break-glass/emergency access accounts and ensure compliant handling and vaulting of emergency credentials

Support devices requiring local authentication and ensure proper fallback mechanisms exist when TACACS+/AAA is deployed

Maintain accurate records, documentation, and audit logs of all credential activities
