Platform Operations & Tooling Engineer (Full Time, Long-Term Contract;Remote)

Optomi, in partnership with one of our clients, is seeking a Platform Operations and Tooling Engineer to support the development, modernization, and automation of enterprise platforms used by software development teams. This role will focus on designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, automating AWS cloud infrastructure, managing artifact repositories, and improving developer workflows through scalable and reusable solutions. The Platform Operations and Tooling Engineer will leverage technologies such as TeamCity, GitHub Actions, Artifactory, Terraform, Ansible, Docker, and Kubernetes to enhance platform reliability, security, and operational efficiency. This individual will collaborate with development, infrastructure, and security teams to troubleshoot complex build and deployment issues, implement automation, and support ongoing platform improvements. The ideal candidate brings extensive hands-on experience in DevOps and platform engineering, strong AWS and infrastructure-as-code expertise, and excellent troubleshooting, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities:

• Build, automate, and manage AWS cloud infrastructure using Terraform, Ansible, Packer, and infrastructure-as-code best practices.
• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise CI/CD pipelines using TeamCity, GitHub Actions, Artifactory, and related development tools to streamline software delivery.
• Develop reusable automation scripts, GitHub Actions workflows, and infrastructure modules to standardize deployment processes and improve developer productivity.
• Configure, administer, and optimize artifact repositories, source control systems, and build environments to ensure reliable and secure software delivery.
• Support containerized applications and cloud platforms using Docker, Kubernetes/EKS, Helm, and Argo CD, including platform modernization and migration initiatives.
• Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and security teams to troubleshoot complex build, deployment, and integration issues while implementing sustainable solutions.
• Improve platform reliability, security, and operational efficiency through monitoring, automation, documentation, technical guidance, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• 8+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps, platform engineering, CI/CD, and enterprise software development environments.
• Strong experience designing, implementing, administering, and troubleshooting enterprise CI/CD pipelines using TeamCity, GitHub Actions, and related development tools.
• Extensive experience designing, deploying, and supporting AWS cloud infrastructure, including infrastructure automation and cloud security best practices.
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) and configuration management tools, including Terraform, Ansible, and Packer.
• Experience configuring and administering JFrog Artifactory, including artifact repositories, permissions, authentication, and artifact management processes.
• Strong experience with Docker, Kubernetes/EKS, Helm, and Argo CD for containerization, orchestration, and automated application deployments.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, PowerShell, Bash, and YAML, with demonstrated experience troubleshooting complex technical issues and collaborating across development, infrastructure, and security teams.
