Sustaining Customer Growth and Demand with Augmented Teams
October 13, 2023

CHALLENGE

One of the fastest-growing mobile self-service platform solutions companies was experiencing explosive growth, pushing them to keep up with customer demand. The client was in search of the right partner to provide high-performing software development and quality assurance talent at a rapid rate without sacrificing candidate quality or cultural fit.

SOLUTION

After exhausting their options with other talent acquisition and HR strategies, the client determined the nature of work was two-fold and needed two things: a product-focused team for new client implementations and a project sustain team to enhance and support current customer platforms. To achieve this, they chose to partner with Optomi to deliver the best talent and staff both teams.

THE OPTOMI DIFFERENCE

Optomi is skillset-focused. Our recruiters are five times more certified than the rest of the IT Staffing industry. Their deep network of candidates within the most in-demand technology sectors is at your fingertips.

Based on the client’s goals, we:

  • Built a fully functional product team of 3 Sr. Java Developers and 3 Angular Developers focused on the future state and next generation of the product/application.
  • Built a fully functional project team of 8 Software Engineers and 9 QA Engineers focused on the maintenance of the current product/application.
  • Managed the procurement and delivery of all required equipment (computers, peripherals, mobile devices for testing) and built this overhead cost into the SOW (so the client owns all equipment).
  • Put a “Consultant Touch Point Policy” in place to ensure the project’s success, address outstanding items, review individual consultant performances, and ensure the hiring manager and leadership team’s expectations were being met.

RESULTS

With their new augmented teams in place, the client’s customer satisfaction rate increased immensely. As customer demand fluctuated, so did the client’s requirements. Within 5 weeks, Optomi successfully screened, onboarded, and deployed 23 consultants to the two teams. We also executed 2 SOWs for each specific client project, with a twelve-month contract commitment.

We established weekly meetings with the client’s hiring managers and leadership to provide status updates on all positions, review resumes with outstanding feedback, discuss onboarding logistics for new hires, and collaborate on potential roadblocks as they evolved. The client agreed to have us conduct 1-and-done, 1-hour interviews to ensure we stay competitive in the tight labor market. Our team now provides managers with daily updates to alert them of our progress in fulfilling their requisites. The client is also able to convert consultants to FTEs (full-time employees) after twelve months on contract.

Now operating at the highest velocity, the client’s new, fully staffed teams are able to maintain the current product/application while simultaneously improving the next generation of the product/application.

CLIENT TESTIMONIAL

“Optomi has been an excellent partner over the past two years. At a time when increased capacity was needed quickly, they were able to begin staffing our openings immediately; Rapidly scheduling interviews with highly qualified candidates within a matter of days, pivoting as needed regarding skillsets based on feedback, and ultimately providing team members who are both knowledgeable and respected across our team. As our needs have shifted, Tyler and her team have continued a pragmatic, partnering approach to winding down contingent workers as and when appropriate, always focusing on our needs. My experience has always been positive, and I would recommend Optomi to colleagues and peers within the industry who may be in need of their services.”

We are proud to announce that Optomi has once again been named one of the Fastest-Growing Staffing Firms in the United States by Staffing Industry Analysts (SIA)—marking our seventh appearance on this annual list. Earning this recognition year after year is not something we take lightly. In a constantly evolving market, sustained growth requires more than strategy—it demands vision, adaptability, and a relentless commitment to excellence in every facet of the business. This milestone is a reflection of the strength of our model, the caliber of our people, and the lasting partnerships we’ve built with our clients and consultants. We’ve remained focused on delivering IT talent solutions that solve real business challenges, while staying rooted in a culture that values integrity, performance, and purpose. “Achieving a compounded annual growth rate over the last few years of 25.6%, when the market as a whole has faced significant headwinds, is truly remarkable. It's a testament to the fact that during uncertain times, clients don't just look for a service; they seek a true partner,” said CEO Chuck Ruggiero. “This growth is a direct result of the trust our clients place in us to deliver the critical talent they need to navigate complexity and innovation. That trust, paired with the unwavering dedication of our team, has allowed us to excel in a down market.” As we look to the future, we’re proud of this achievement—but even more committed to what comes next. With a strong foundation and a proven approach, Optomi remains well-positioned for continued growth and impact.
