What is NodeJS?

NodeJS is an open-source, cross-platform JavaScript runtime environment and library to run web applications outside the client’s browser. It is used to create server- side (backend) web applications.

What Does NodeJS Do?

NodeJS is primarily used for non-blocking, event-driven servers, due to its single-threaded nature. It’s used for not only traditional websites and backend API services, but was designed with real- time, push-based architectures in mind.

What is the Importance?

NodeJS sits on the server (backend) which is an application that runs and listens and what it listens for is people who want to connect to that server via requests – whether on your phone, laptop, or someone on an internet connected refrigerator can make a request to server and grab the requested data.

Case Studies Utilizing NodeJS

Client #1 is an American subscription streaming service and production company that uses NodeJS. Their platform streams tons of data at a very quick rate and this is where NodeJS comes into play. It solves data streaming problems for the client and increases overall efficiency for a great user experience!

Client #2 is an online shopping website that contains a large amount of data loaded in a web browser. NodeJS makes the data more accessible and therefore the uptime of the website will always be high.
