What is React?

You most likely use React apps every day, whether you are watching your favorite TV shows, browsing through social media, or just checking your email. React is a JavaScript library built and maintained by Meta (Facebook). React is a very efficient, declarative, and flexible open-source JavaScript library for building simple, fast, and scalable front-ends of web applications. It is by far the most popular open- source JavaScript library and is used by most Fortune 500 companies.

What Does React Do?

React allows developers to create large web applications that can change data, without reloading the page. The main purpose of React, as mentioned above, is to be fast, scalable, and simple. It lets you create complex UI’s from small and isolated pieces of code called “components”.

What is the Importance?

The React library provides users templates and elements that serve as a base for developing creative web interfaces. Applications developed using React tend to have a high performing nature and state of the art user interaction and experience in addition to maintaining high traffic.

Client #1 is a photo and video sharing social networking service. The use of React within the popular social media app is HUGE. A proof for that is numerous features including the geolocations, Google Maps APIs, search engine accuracy as well as tags that pop out without hashtags. React is all there in the API of the app and the public seems to love it.

Client #2 is an American subscription streaming service and production company that uses React for a specific platform called “Gibbon.” Gibbon was designed with the intent to bring a better user experience to individuals who have low-performance TV devices instead of the traditional model used in web browsers. Their decision to adopt React was a no- brainer as it helps with startup speed, improve runtime performance, and modularity.
